Celebration of Life for Jim Davis

The Plymouth community is invited to attend a Celebration of Life for former City Council Member Jim Davis 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Plymouth Community Center, 14800 34th Ave N. This informal, open house-style event will not include a formal program, and there is no need to RSVP.

The City of Plymouth received the sad news that Davis passed away Saturday, Jan. 4.

Davis had served as Ward 3 City Council Member since 2017, until he resigned in February 2024 due to health challenges. Prior to his election to the Plymouth City Council, Davis served for 10 years on the Plymouth Planning Commission. He had also served on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee for three years.

Obituary: Davis, James Gerald

With much sadness we announce the passing of James Gerald Davis. Husband, Father, and respected member of our community. Jim passed on January 4th, 2025, after a courageous battle with RVCL. Born November 28th, 1954, in Philadelphia, Jim was known for his strong work ethic and devotion to his community. He is survived by Dale, wife of 42 years, and son Paul. A lifelong Philadelphia Eagles Fan, Jim bled green. During his time on Plymouth City Council and planning commission, he always gave his constituents a voice and believed that individuals could make a difference in city government. Jim earned an Engineering degree from Drexel. After moving to Minnesota in 1999 for a job at BAE Systems, Jim and family moved to Plymouth and never moved again. Jim was well respected by his colleagues for his "directness" and killer spread sheets. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 1st, 11:00 AM at Plymouth Community Center, 14800 34th Ave N., Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, any donation to: Online: Penn RVCL are appreciated.
