Outreach & Events
-
Tree & Shrub Sale: The emerald ash borer is a striking reminder that we need a greater variety of trees in our parks and yards. The Forestry division sponsors an annual sale to help residents acquire trees and shrubs to replace buckthorn or trees lost to disease. The trees and shrubs offered are bare root, so they are inexpensive and easy to move. More information.
- Arbor Day: The annual tree planting celebration highlights the benefits of trees and the natural environment.
- Plant Swap: The city hosts a spring and fall plant swap on the first Monday of June and second Monday of September. Bring perennials, seeds, tools, pots, books and other garden items to swap and pick up free items brought by others.
