The city’s transit service, Plymouth Metrolink, works with Plymouth’s larger employers to identify transit options for their employees. Metrolink provides express bus service to downtown Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota and reverse commuter service from Minneapolis to employment centers in Plymouth. Metrolink also offers an on-demand shuttle service within the city, which connects to select locations outside the city.

Nearly 53,000 employees work at Plymouth businesses. Top industries in the city include manufacturing, wholesale trade, and professional/scientific/technical services.

Plymouth’s workforce is well educated and highly skilled. More than 72% of residents have at least an associate’s degree, and businesses have access to talent from Hennepin Technical College, St. Cloud State University’s Plymouth campus, the University of Minnesota, and other nearby colleges and universities.

While businesses in Plymouth employ workers from the city, they also draw from Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding suburbs, contributing to a rich talent pool.
