Warm, sunny weather greeted participants the morning of the Plymouth Firefighter 5K Sept. 26. A total of 313 runners registered for the race, in addition to 146 children who registered for the Kids Fun following the 5K.
Highlights of the 5K included warm-up exercises led by celebrity guest Crunch, mascot for the Timberwolves, and Michelle Miller, local fitness expert. In addition, 93-year-old 5K participant Norm Olson finished the race again this year, to the delight of a cheering crowd.
Winners are as follows:
Top Three Men – Course record of 16:27 set by Josh Peterson in 2014 remains unbroken.
1st Place: Matthew Payne, 17:13
2nd Place: Andrew Megears, 18:30
3rd Place: Bob Day, 18:51
Top Three Women – The women’s top record of 19:09 from 2007 remains unbroken.
1st Place: Kelly Schwandt, 22:23
2nd Place: Bernie Polovitz, 23:18
3rd Place: Kate McManus, 24:21

Thirty-nine businesses sponsored the run and 75 volunteers made the event possible. Proceeds from the event benefitted the Plymouth Firefighters’ Relief Association. View complete results of the 5K.
