Plymouth Fire Department recognized the creative artwork that fourth- and fifth-grade students submitted in the Fire Prevention Poster Contest. This year's theme, Hear the Beep Where You Sleep, focused on the importance of smoke alarms in bedrooms.
Natalie Tran and Kavya Narang, fifth-grade students from Plymouth Creek and Kimberly Lane elementary schools respectively, tied for Plymouth’s Grand Prize. Their posters will go on to compete at the state level. Each will receive a $25 cash prize from the Plymouth Crime and Fire Prevention Fund, a ride to school on a fire truck, and firefighters will visit their classroom with treats for all of their classmates.
A first place winner was chosen from each elementary school that participated in the contest. These winners will receive a $15 award, a ride to school on a fire truck and firefighters will visit their classrooms with treats.
