Plymouth Police Remind Residents to Close Garage Doors to Prevent Theft

Post Date:08/02/2016

Night to Unite Aug. 2 is about public safety and crime prevention, so the Plymouth Police Department is reminding residents to keep their garage doors closed to prevent theft – especially at night.

In the past few weeks, there was an increase in items stolen from garages. Here are some other reminders from Plymouth Police:

  • If you park in the driveway, remember to lock your car doors
  • Keep garage door openers out of plain sight to prevent giving a thief easy access to your garage
  • Lock your garage service doors
  • Remove valuables from your vehicles

Residents are encouraged to look out for each other by notifying their neighbors if garage doors are left open. Report any suspicious activity by calling 911. Enjoy Night to Unite!
