The City of Plymouth will hold a free paper shredding event 3:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 at the Plymouth Maintenance Facility, 14900 23rd Ave. N. An added bonus, residents can also drop off bikes and textiles to be recycled. Note: The print edition of Plymouth News listed an incorrect event start time of 4 p.m.
All vehicles must enter on 23rd Avenue from Fernbrook Lane only. Vehicles may access Fernbrook Lane from Highway 55 or County Road 6.
Residents must stay in their vehicles at all times.
On-site staff will safely retrieve materials from each vehicle. Paper is shredded on-site at the event and is confidentially handled and recycled.
The event is for Plymouth residents only; ID or proof of residency is required.
Accepted Materials: Paper, Bikes, Textiles
Only the following items will be accepted at the event:
- Paper – No three-ring binders or binder clips. Paper clips and staples attached to papers are accepted.
- Bicycles and bicycle parts
- Textiles – Can be in poor or unusable condition.
- Clothing, any cloth material including undergarments
- Sewing/clothing fabric
- Bedding
- Shoes
- Coats, jackets and other outerwear
- Belts, purses, backpacks
- Small household items: Irons, ironing boards, crockpots, toasters, pots and pans, silverware, décor and knick-knacks.
Items Not Accepted
The following items will not be accepted at the event:
- Furniture
- Microwaves
- TV's, computer monitors, video game consoles, speakers
- Carpet, carpet padding, rugs
- Mattresses
Residents must take their containers with them, including cardboard boxes or paper bags.
