Plymouth Civic League Honors Plymouth Company with 2013 Music in Plymouth Award

The Plymouth Civic League is pleased to announce the second annual Music in Plymouth Award was presented to Daikin McQuay at Music in Plymouth July 2.
 
The award honors an individual, group or company that has made significant contributions to the ongoing success of Music in Plymouth, within one or more of the following areas of excellence: vision and leadership, service and volunteerism, financial support. A donation was made to the Music in Plymouth Endowment Fund in honor of Daikin McQuay and the company’s name will be placed on the endowment fund monument in the Hilde Performance Center amphitheater.
 
Daikin McQuay
McQuay International has been involved with Music in Plymouth since the event’s inception in 1973. The company hosted the first concert on its property in the Minneapolis Industrial Park in Plymouth. It has had an active Plymouth Civic League board member since 1973 and has been an annual contributor to the event. Japan-headquartered Daikin is the new owner of McQuay and the company will bear its name in the near future. With the Music in Plymouth Award, the Plymouth Civic League welcomes the opportunity to bridge the old and new, and gratefully acknowledges all parties for their ongoing support.
 
Previous recipients of this prestigious award have been Curt Carlson and the Carlson Family Foundation (2012) and Al Hilde (2012), former mayor of Plymouth and founder, with his wife Jayne, of the Music in Plymouth Endowment Fund.
