Plymouth Fire Department Reminds Residents to Replace Smoke Alarm Batteries

Post Date:10/30/2013

When daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. this Sunday, Nov. 3, residents will have to set their clocks back one hour in order to maintain the correct time. The Plymouth Fire Department reminds residents that when they change their clocks, they should change their batteries, too.

In addition to replacing batteries in all smoke alarms, residents should test and vacuum them. The Plymouth Fire Department recommends replacing the alarms every 10 years. Alarms should be installed on every level of the home.

For assistance in reaching alarms or for help in putting together a home fire escape plan, call the Fire Department at 763-509-5120.
