Plymouth Creek Center Hosts Art Display by Elementary Students

Post Date:01/29/2014

The walls inside the Plymouth Creek Center recently received a temporary makeover, thanks to Plymouth elementary school students.

For the 14th-consecutive year, the City of Plymouth and Plymouth Arts Council will feature an art exhibit designed by Plymouth elementary students at the Plymouth Creek Center, 14800 34th Ave. The exhibit will be on display through the month of February.

The purpose of the initiative is to recognize and nurture the talent of beginner artists. Participating schools selected two pieces of artwork for each grade level and submitted them to the Plymouth Arts Council. Each participating student will receive a certificate of accomplishment from the City of Plymouth.

The exhibit will be open during Plymouth Creek Center hours of operation, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and will also be open evenings and Saturdays to allow for better visibility and viewer attendance. For more information about the available viewing hours, call 763-509-5280.

Participating elementary schools include Birchview, Gleason Lake, Greenwood, Kimberly Lane, Oakwood, Plymouth Creek, Providence Academy, Sunset Hill and Zachary Lane.

Displayed artwork will represent a variety of media, including two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces, and is not limited to paintings.
