On Dec. 30, 2014, officers from the Plymouth Police Department received information from the Minnesota Child Exploitation Task Force that child pornography was being downloaded to a computer located in Plymouth.
On Jan. 27, a search warrant was executed for a residence located in Plymouth. During the search warrant, officers seized computer equipment from the residence. Jeffrey Todd Miller, a 52-year-old male was taken into custody. A forensic analysis is being performed on the seized equipment.
On Jan. 29, police were notified that Jeffrey Miller was deceased. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the manner of death as suicide.
At this time, police are not aware of any local victims involved in inappropriate contact with Miller. Due to Miller’s teaching and peer coaching positions within the Wayzata School District, the police are seeking information from the community regarding any possible inappropriate behavior demonstrated by Miller. At this point, no evidence has been found directly or indirectly linking Miller to any students. The Plymouth Police Department is working in cooperation with the Wayzata School District to complete its investigation. The investigation is still active and the digital evidence continues to be analyzed.
