Thursday, Aug. 26 Movies in the Park has been canceled due to weather

Community Choice Winner: Onward - Announced Tuesday, Aug. 3

The community cast their votes on the city's website and social media channels for the Aug. 19 community choice movie. Onward was the winning choice and will be shown at the Hilde Performance Center on Thursday, Aug. 19. 

The City of Plymouth presents free Movies in the Park in August as part of the city’s Entertainment in the Parks series.

Viewings begin at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.). The family-friendly movies will be presented on the following Thursdays at the Hilde Performance Center, 3500 Plymouth Blvd.

Movie description: A koala impresario stages a gala singing competition in order to save his theater. The contest attracts the attention of musically inclined animals, such as a harried pig mother, a teenage gorilla, a shy elephant and a “punk” porcupine. Rated PG.

Community Choice: Vote to Choose the Movie – Aug. 19

Community Choice: Residents are invited to vote online to select the Aug. 19 movie – choices include Trolls World Tour, Onward and Ralph Breaks the Internet. Residents can vote on the city’s Facebook page, Twitter account or on the city website. Voting is open July 26 through Aug. 2. The winning movie will be announced Tuesday, Aug. 3. Vote online here. 

Pokémon Detective Pikachu – Aug. 26

Movie description: In a world where people collect Pokémon to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who seeks to be a detective. Rated PG.

Movies are free to view. The 2021 sponsors include Kyle Vitense State Farm and TCF Bank.
