City of Plymouth snow plow crews are set to plow primary and secondary routes throughout the day Wednesday, Dec. 21. A snow emergency has been declared and full city plowing is set to begin at midnight in Plymouth. (After plowing throughout the day, this will allow crews to take a necessary break to rest before commencing a full city plow.)
A snowfall of 2 inches or more prompts a snow emergency. Please stay safe and drive carefully.
Seasonal Reminders
- Fire Hydrants: The Fire Department asks residents to shovel out fire hydrants near their homes. Keeping hydrants clear of snow can substantially reduce the time it takes firefighters to put out a fire. Adopt a fire hydrant in Plymouth.
- Mailboxes: Residents are asked to clear snow in front of mailboxes to ensure postal deliveries. Snow plow drivers are not able to clear snow directly in front of mailboxes, as plows may knock down and damage posts – especially with heavy wet snow.
Snow Removal Policy & More Information
While each snow event is unique, for a typical snowfall of 2 inches or more, city staff aims to have streets and cul-de-sacs cleared within nine hours after snow quits falling. View the City of Plymouth's snow removal policy: plymouthmn.gov/snow.
