Halloween at the Lake

The City of Plymouth is set to host Halloween at the Lake 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 at Parkers Lake Playfield, 15500 County Road 6.

A free event that brings together the best of Plymouth’s Parks and Recreation, Police, and Fire departments, Halloween at the Lake features attractions such as inflatables, food trucks, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin golf, bingo, an apple launcher, and a DJ and dance party. The event will also include public safety vehicles for children to view, a sensory station for hands-on fun and treat stations, while supplies last.

Attendees should bring money for food truck purchases. Costumes are encouraged.

Plymouth Artisan Market

Set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Plymouth Community Center, 14800 34th Ave. N., the all-new Plymouth Artisan Market will feature craftspeople and artists showcasing and selling their hand-crafted creations. There will be live music throughout the event. The event is free and open to the public.

Volunteer Opportunities

Residents may volunteer to adopt a storm drain to help keep them clear of leaves, yard waste and trash to prevent stormwater pollution. While anyone may clean them, registering to adopt a storm drain allows city staff to properly inventory drains and log participants’ volunteer time. To adopt a storm drain, visit plymouthmn.gov/adoptaspot

Plymouth is also seeking volunteers to help with upcoming Buckthorn Busts – an annual series of coordinated efforts to remove the invasive plant from the city. Buckthorn Busts are scheduled for the mornings of Saturday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 28. To participate, email volunteer@plymouthmn.gov or call the city’s volunteer coordinator at 763-509-5230. Learn more about the invasive plant and how to remove it at plymouthmn.gov/buckthorn
