The Plymouth City Council appointed two new council members to fill vacant seats at the March 12 City Council meeting.

Kimberly Nelson was appointed to serve the remainder of the current Ward 1 term, representing northwest Plymouth. Catherine Cesnik was appointed to serve the remainder of the current Ward 3 term, representing southeast Plymouth. Both terms are set to expire Jan. 6, 2025.

The appointments follow the recent resignations of former Ward 1 Council Member Alise McGregor, who resigned due to her plans to relocate outside of Plymouth, as well as former Ward 3 Council Member Jim Davis, who resigned due to health challenges.

Nelson and Cesnik are set to be sworn in at the regular City Council meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at Plymouth City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Blvd.
