As part of the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Highway 55 pavement improvement project, Highway 55 will be closed in the eastbound direction Oct. 7-16, followed by a closure of the westbound direction Oct. 17-27. The closures are necessary for crews to complete resurfacing work.
Eastbound Highway 55 Closure
Beginning 2 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, eastbound Highway 55 between I-494 and Highway 169 will be closed through 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Those traveling in the area may use southbound I-494 to eastbound I-394 to northbound Highway 169 as a detour. View a map of the detour (PDF).
Westbound Highway 55 Closure
Beginning 2 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, westbound Highway 55 between Highway 169 and I-494 will be closed through 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.
Those traveling in the area, may use southbound Highway 169 to westbound I-394 to northbound I-494 as a detour. View a map of the detour (PDF).
Intersections at Highway 55
During the closures, signalized intersections at Highway 55 between Highway 169 and I-494 will remain open with limited access, though motorists should expect significant delays. The unsignalized intersections at Larch Lane N., Ives Lane N., Goldenrod Lane N. and Evergreen Lane N. will retain access to the open direction of Highway 55. The median at Industrial Boulevard will remain closed during both closures.
