The City of Plymouth is looking for 15-20 community members to participate in a series of workshops to develop community goals related to energy use, energy efficiency, renewable energy and access to energy related information.
Known as the Energy Action Plan Team, the group will meet for 2-3 hours every six weeks from February to September to develop a strategic energy plan for the community. The group will also encourage community buy-in to make changes such as installing window insulation cling in the winter, adding insulation to poorly insulated areas of the home, installing solar panels, replacing inefficient appliances, and more.
“This is a great opportunity to get involved at the local level,” Plymouth Environmental Stewardship Coordinator MK Anderson said. “This group is designed to have real impact and outline action items for environmental benefit.”
The Energy Action Plan will be developed and implemented through the Partners in Energy program, which is a collaboration between Xcel Energy, Center for Energy and Environment, and the City of Plymouth.
