Win Twins Tickets, Bragging Rights & Shed Pounds in Step to It Challenge

Post Date:04/20/2012
Step to It Challenge Earn a chance to win Twins tickets, shed extra pounds and help Plymouth earn bragging rights by joining in the free countywide Step to It Challenge. The program will pit Plymouth in a friendly competition with 23 other northwest communities for the title of most active city. The challenge runs from April 23 through May 20.

The four-week challenge is a fun, lighted-hearted way to connect with family, friends, and neighbors -- and get more active. Participants should register on the Step to It website. Participants will track daily activity levels on the website using a pedometer or conversion chart. If you need a group as a motivator, you can create groups of friends, family members, co-workers or neighbors in your account.

Lots of activities will earn you points -- walking, biking, running, cleaning, gardening, playing with the kids and more. The website has a list of “step equivalents” for a wide variety of activities -- so everyone gets credit for all their activity during the challenge.

Win Twins Tickets
As co-sponsors with Hennepin County, the Minnesota Twins will be giving away tickets to several lucky participants. Ten youth, aged 17 and younger, will each receive a pair of Twins tickets through a random drawing. The individual with the highest step total in each city will win a pair of Twins tickets and be recognized on the field during a game this summer. New to the 2012 challenge, 100 lucky “steppers” who have been continuing to log steps throughout the challenge, will have a chance to have their name drawn randomly to receive a pair of tickets.

If you have questions about Plymouth’s participation in the challenge, contact Alyssa Krumholz at 763-509-5225 or akrumholtz@plymouthmn.gov.
