The City of Plymouth Parks and Recreation Department has opened registration for the “Music for Everyone” program, which will be held the week of June 10 through Aug. 23.
The 10-week summer session offers individual music lessons for participants ages 7 and older in the areas of voice, brass, woodwinds, strings and piano.
Returning students must register by May 16 in order to maintain placement. New students will be placed on a first-come, first-served waiting list and will be assigned lesson spots after May 16. Lessons cost $21 per half-hour; participants must attend the full 10-week session, which costs $210.
Now in its 23rd year, Music for Everyone is offered as a collaboration of five Parks and Recreation departments, including Plymouth, Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Maple Grove and New Hope.
Lessons will be held at the Plymouth Creek Center, Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center, Brookview Community Center in Golden Valley and the Maple Grove Community Center. Students from New Hope will also be offered the resident rate.
All music instructors have a degree in music and have previous teaching experience. The consortium also offers preschool group classes and group keyboard classes for youth.
