The City of Plymouth is seeking applications for artists who wish to display or sell their work at this year’s Plymouth Arts Fair.
The two-day event will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 and noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Plymouth Creek Center, 14800 34th Ave. N. A jury will review applications and select artists to be featured at the fair. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. Download an application.
In addition to the display, demonstration and sale of those selected artists’ work, the Plymouth Arts Fair will feature family-friendly entertainment, children’s activities and musical performances. In past years, artists from around the state have sold their handiwork, including paintings, sculptures and jewelry.
Selected artists will receive a 10-by-10 foot space with a table and two chairs. The fair will be held indoors, but no electricity will be available. The ballroom, meeting room and foyer of the Plymouth Creek Center will be used for the event, but booth location will be at the discretion of event sponsors. Artists will need to provide display equipment and signage.
Cost to enter the fair as an artist is $85 and includes two meal tickets to be used during the fair Nov. 16 and two snack tickets to be used Nov. 17. The cost includes a $25 non-refundable jury fee. Applicants who are not selected will be reimbursed the remaining $60. Artists will be notified of the jury’s decision Sept. 27.
Plymouth Arts Fair is free and open to the public. The event is co-sponsored by the City of Plymouth, the Plymouth Arts Council and Andersen Windows.
