The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced that motorists traveling on County Road 47 near Interstate 494 in Plymouth will encounter a detour in both directions beginning Monday, April 20.

County Road 47 between Yucca and Teakwood lanes will be closed to traffic until late May 2015, weather permitting. The closure is needed while crews reconstruct the southbound side of I-494 over County Road 47.

County Road 47 Detour: 

• Westbound traffic on County Road 47 will be detoured to northbound Northwest Boulevard and westbound Bass Lake Road.
• Eastbound traffic on County Road 47 will be detoured to northbound County Road 101/Brockton Lane and eastbound Bass Lake Road.

The work is part of a two-year construction project on I-494 that includes repairing the pavement on the interstate, adding a third lane on I-494 between Highway 55 and I-94/694, and building noise walls along the interstate.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully through the work zone.
