The City of Plymouth is experiencing intermittent issues with its phone provider and is working to resolve the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Tune in to the Mayor's Minutes to watch Mayor Kelli Slavik discuss how the city is continuing to invest in the community with a handful of neighborhood park projects, as well as a major open space/trail project and the enhancements to the Hilde Performance Center. Watch the video on YouTube.
Northwest Greenway The city is set to break ground on the Northwest Greenway project this year. A demonstration of Plymouth’s long-term planning, since 2000, the city has been working toward its vision of a more than 350-acre reserve of land with a carefully-situated looping paved trail that allows access for walkers and bikers. When complete, the Greenway will stretch from Wayzata High School and the Elm Creek Playfield to Camelot Park and the Medicine Lake Regional Trail and will include three major trail systems.
Hilde Phase 2
Phase two of planned improvements at the Hilde Performance Center are well underway. Most improvements to the Hilde will be complete by early June, weather permitting. The improvements will increase visibility of the Hilde Performance Center from Plymouth Boulevard, add a plaza at the edge of the amphitheater’s pond and incorporate a veterans memorial into the site.
Neighborhood Park Improvements
Three neighborhood parks will see new equipment and renovations, including Heather Ponds, Circle and Hemlock parks. In addition to playground equipment replacements, city staff will clean up the park areas and complete landscaping, tree pruning and bench improvements. The average life of a playground is about 15 to 17 years.
