The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced that entrance and exit ramps to and from southbound Interstate 494 at County Road 9/Rockford Road in Plymouth will be closed beginning Monday, June 22. The ramps will remain closed through late July, weather permitting.
The closures are needed while crews repair both ramps.
Motorists intending to enter southbound I-494 from County Road 9/Rockford Road will be detoured to southbound Northwest Boulevard and westbound Highway 55.
Those intending to exit southbound I-494 at County Road 9/Rockford Road will be detoured to eastbound Highway 55 and northbound I-494.
The work is part of a two-year construction project on I-494 that includes:
- Repairing the pavement on the interstate.
- Adding a third lane on I-494 between Highway 55 and I-94/694.
- Building noise walls along the interstate.
Thank you for your patience during this closure. For more information about the project or to sign up for email project updates, visit the project website at mndot.gov/metro/projects/i494plymouth.
