The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced that crews plan to open Schmidt Lake Road at Interstate 494 in Plymouth the early morning of Tuesday, July 21, weather permitting.

The road has been closed since June 22, as crews rebuilt a portion of the southbound I-494 bridge over Schmidt Lake Road.

The work is part of a two-year construction project on I-494 that includes: 

• Repairing the pavement on the interstate
• Adding a third lane on I-494 between Hwy 55 and I-94/694
• Building noise walls along the interstate
