The City of Plymouth is accepting applications for the Public Safety Citizens Academy – a free, 36-hour, 12-week course that meets 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursdays beginning Sept. 8.
The course is open to adults 18 and older who live or work in Plymouth. All applications are subject to a criminal history check.
Topics covered include patrol operations, K9 unit, police tactics, use of force, narcotic enforcement and SWAT. Hands-on activities include the opportunity to go on a police ride along and tours of both police and fire services.

Application deadline is Thursday, Sept. 1 or until the class is full.
