Mayor’s Minutes: Vicksburg Lane, Snow Alerts, Fieldhouse Walking

Post Date:11/03/2016 2:59 p.m.

Tune in to the most recent episode of Mayor's Minutes, as Plymouth Mayor Kelli Slavik discusses the final stages of the Vicksburg Lane reconstruction project, preparing for winter and signing up for snow emergency alerts, and free indoor walking/jogging available at the Plymouth Creek Center Fieldhouse dome. Watch the video on YouTube.

Vicksburg Lane Nearing Completion
For the past two years, the reconstruction of Vicksburg Lane between Old Rockford Road and the Maple Grove border has been a major focus for the city – and the project is nearly complete.

The project involved constructing and expanding Vicksburg Lane from two lanes to four lanes and building a bridge over the Canadian Pacific Railroad.

Additionally, the project marks the first time Plymouth has received state bonding for a project – $4.7 million for the bridge over the railroad. Thanks to prudent financial planning by the city, the $21 million project was accomplished without issuing debt or increasing property taxes.
