  • Snowplowing: A snowfall of 2 inches or more triggers a snow emergency (citywide plowing and associated parking regulations). While each snow event is unique, the goal is to have all streets and cul-de-sacs cleared within nine hours after snow quits falling. For snowfalls of less than 2 inches, only main roadways and designated secondary streets are treated/plowed.

  • Parking: No parking allowed on city streets after a 2-inch snowfall until streets have been plowed curb-to-curb. Parking is prohibited year-round from 2-5 a.m. Violators may be ticketed and towed.

  • Report Issues: If you spot plowing problems, icy patches or damage, report them online at plymouthmn.gov/myplymouth.

  • Live Plow Map: Track snowplow progress in near-real time via the Live Plymouth Plow Map at plymouthmn.gov/liveplowmap.

Other Seasonal Reminders

  • Keep garbage/recycling carts out of the street.
  • Remove items in the right-of-way (basketball hoops, landscaping and more) to prevent damage.
  • Help keep fire hydrants clear and remove snow from around mailboxes.
  • Wait to shovel until your street is plowed to mitigate duplicative shoveling.
  • It is illegal to shovel snow into the street.
  • Use salt wisely: One 12-ounce coffee mug of salt is enough to cover 10 sidewalk squares or a 20-foot driveway. Salt only works at temperatures above 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
