Project Overview
The City of Plymouth is working with the Bassett Creel Watershed Management Commission (BCWMC) to construct a water quality improvement project in the area southwest of Highway 169 and Rockford Road (the former Four Seasons Mall area) in order to improve the water quality of the north branch of Bassett Creek (which flows along the east of the site) and to help meet the phosphorous reduction goals for Northwood Lake in New Hope.
The project includes dredging accumulated sediment, fixing failing storm sewer infrastructure, creating two stormwater ponds, and restoring the 3.3 acre wetland in the southeast portion of the site. The project will annually capture at least 110 pounds of total phosphorus and help the city work towards its water quality improvement goals.
The project design plans were reviewed and approved by the BCWMC in 2024. The project has been bid and the contractor will look to start work at the end of January 2025.
